Acne & Scars
Most people with acne are aged between 12 and 25 but some older and younger people are affected. Acne usually affects the face but may also affect the back, neck and chest. The severity can range from mild to severe.
Sun, skin disorders, aging and even heredity can all contribute to skin irregularities on the face and elsewhere on the body. These include textural irregularities like wrinkles and acne scars, pigmentation changes like freckles and sunspots, or visible blood vessels. In addition, skin may lose tone, feel less firm, and certain areas of the body may develop cellulite conditions. Conditions that can be treated with skin rejuvenation and resurfacing include:
Static wrinkles: These wrinkles are visible at all times and do not change in appearance with facial movements
Dynamic wrinkles: These are expression lines that may appear as folds when the skin is not moving, and deepen with facial movements or expressions
Pigmentation: Freckles, sun spots, or other darkened patches of skin result mainly from sun exposure
Scars: As the result of acne or injury to the skin, scars may be rolling (a wavy appearance to the skin), pitted, discolored, or have raised borders
Vascular conditions: Blood vessels visible on the surface of the skin, vascular lesions that appear as tiny blood-filled blisters or even a constant flush of facial redness
Loss of skin tone: Weakening of the supportive skin structures (collagen and elastin fibers) that result in a loss of skin firmness or the development of cellulite
Skin polishing generally refers to any form of exfoliation which removes the uppermost layer of skin, but can specifically refer to “microdermabrasion” a cosmetic procedure intended to diminish aging and blemishes to the skin. Advocates of skin polishing claim that the process can brightens the tone of the skin, improve overall texture, and even medicate some chronic skin conditions. The following method is meant to reproduce results from a professional skin polishing treatment. As with all medical treatment, please consult a dermatologist before beginning this or any other skin polishing regimen.
As we age we lose volume in our face, primarily fat. As a result skin can hang down as gravity acts on it creating droopiness, wrinkles and bands. This can be thought of as excess skin and is similar in concept to a dress that becomes too large as its owner loses weight. In cases where you have a significant amount of this loose skin, you may find no other solution than plastic surgery (e.g. face-lift, body lift, arm lift, etc.) because the underlying muscles need to be addressed and re-positioned.
This brilliant advance in skin care technology improves the appearance of wrinkles, stretch marks, pigmentation, broken capillaries, acne scarring, minimizes pore size and helps regulate the skin’s oil production. Dermaroller is a form of skin needling that is able to stimulate your skin’s natural own collagen production by 1000% of its standard production and allows for skin care products to be delivered into the skin 200 times more effectively. Due to Dermaroller not using or creating heat in the skin there is no risk of hyper pigmentation and therefore can be used on all skin types and coloring.
Normal skin is used as donor tissue and then grafts are surgically transplanted on areas of vitiligo. The new skin grafts start producing pigment.
This procedure can be used for patients with limited areas of vitiligo and also in those with more extensive disease. Patients can decide to use grafts on one area of the body (such as the face) and choose another therapy for other areas affected by vitiligo (such as the hands).
Skin grafting has a high success rate — 80 to 90 percent in most patients. Variegated pigmentation may be seen in some cases.
A growing body of research has indicated that the most effective treatment for vitiligo is light therapy. Among other vitiligo treatments, light therapy- particularly narrow band UVB light therapy- is up to 93 percent effective in re-pigmenting the skin partially or fully. The remission rate of light therapy is around 50 percent at 6 months, which is a much better remission rate than most other vitiligo treatments.
Although light therapy is one of the most effective treatments for vitiligo, and it is possible to increase the potential for greater skin pigmentation with the addition of supplements, few individuals realize how or why light therapy benefits vitiligo.
Until recently, doctors and scientists had little information about why light therapy is good for the body- other than the fact that UV radiation stimulates the production of vitamin D in the body. However, new research has unveiled some interesting information about just how powerful sunlight can be in reversing many common health problems seen today.
Ear piercing has specific tools designed to carry out an ear piercing procedure. A gun or needle can be used to pierce the ears, however a gun is more commonly used. Ear piercers must have adequate knowledge on how and where to pierce, infection control techniques, and minimum hygiene standards. The following recommendations are made to help achieve these standards.
Mesotherapy (from Greek mesos, “middle”, and therapy from Greek therapeia, “to treat medically”) is a non-surgical cosmetic medicine treatment. Mesotherapy employs multiple injections of pharmaceutical and homeopathic medications, plant extracts, vitamins, and other ingredients into subcutaneous fat. Mesotherapy injections allegedly target adipose fat cells, apparently by inducing lipolysis, rupture and cell death among adipocytes.
Skin needling, also called microneedling therapy, collagen induction therapy (CIT), and percutaneous collagen induction (PCI), is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through the process of neovascularization and neocollagenesis, there is improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

When we get older, our hair starts to fall out. It’s a shame, but it’s true. And sometimes it isn’t just old age that’s a culprit, because some people are just genetically predisposed to early balding and hair loss.
There are plenty of treatments you could try to counteract losing it all, but they’re expensive. For starters, the most effective treatment is hair follicle transplanting, which can cost more expensive. And no, it’s most likely not covered by your health insurance.

Intra lesional therapy is a procedure in which a drug is injected directly into a skin lesion for faster action. It is often used for conditions such as keloids, acne and vitiligo. In many cases, intra lesional therapy eliminates the need for long term oral or topical therapy. It can be very effective as the injection works deep into the tissue where topical medications cannot penetrate. In some cases, intra lesional therapy is combined with cryotherapy to treat keloids and other dermatological conditions.
